Welcome
to the Jami'a Islamia (ICNVT Islamic School)
Dear Parents, Assalam-u-Alaikum:
It is our pleasure to welcome you and
your child to the ICNVT Islamic School. The purpose of this letter is to
acquaint you with our new school and classroom.
As a teacher there is a lot we can
contribute to the education and well being of your child. In order to process learning, many things need
to be done besides having your child sit at a desk with a piece of paper and
pencil. One of the first things that have to occur is that something must
interest a child and give him/her DESIRE to learn. We are willing to do our best to create that
interest. However, we can’t be
successful without your co-operation. There are a few things that have to be
done at home for example -- you need to make sure that the kids must eat a full
and healthy breakfast before coming to the school. They are allowed to bring a
small snack with them like a small bag of chips or cookies but nothing fancy or
big. Also your kids have to follow the Masjid dress code.
Presently, there is no uniform but the
kids should be dressed properly – should not come in shorts or short skirts -- girls
must wear hijab because they will Insha-Allah pray “Zuhr” before going home as
this is part of the curriculum. They should
make “wudu” before coming to the school. During winter please make sure they come in warm
clothes and wear a jacket.
Last but not least you and your kids
are responsible for their homework assignments. Please make sure that you check
their homework folders and help them to revise what teachers taught them in the
class.
You all know this is a new school therefore it
might take a little time to get into a routine. We request you to be patient and help us with
your advise/comments to improve.
In conclusion, we believe we can work
together. As parents, you are way ahead of us in “knowing your child”. With
your help we can go a long way. Together let’s make this new Islamic School a
huge success.
If there are any questions/suggestions -- please
talk to us. You can always send a note in your child’s home work folder or see
us after the class.
